RI New Zealand 2020 Online, 15, 17 & 18 September

Responsible investment continues its advance across global capital markets, with the COVID-19 pandemic only strengthening the conviction of global investors by underscoring the critical role that ESG issues play in the success of companies, economies and nations.

New Zealand is no different, with growing momentum in responsible investment and sustainable finance driven by a shifting focus by regulators, an increasing policy momentum around ESG issues, not least of which being climate change, as well as a growing desire by Kiwis to invest their money in line with their values.

RIAA will host its 11th annual RI New Zealand conference this year as an online conference (15, 17 & 18 September), and will additionally deliver an in-person conference event in early 2021 (3 March, Auckland).

The RI New Zealand Online Conference in September will include keynote addresses and industry speakers, on critical issues to the responsible investment community of New Zealand, covering a focus on the recovery from COVID, leading responsible investment practices, and policy developments, with sessions such as:

• Launch of RI New Zealand Benchmark Report 2020
• Responsible investment and global crisis – insights for the way forward
• The role of finance in a recovery that builds a better and more sustainable finance sector and economy
• Policy developments in New Zealand including an update and insights on the Sustainable Finance Forum, KiwiSaver defaults, Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) and the role of the regulator in offering guidance on responsible investing
• How financial advisers are responding to growing client demand
• Key and topical ESG themes and developments
