The Responsible Investment Association Australasia in partnership with the Guardians of the New Zealand Superfund is pleased to host a workshop on nature-related investment in Aotearoa. This workshop will explore nature-based risks and how to identify investment opportunities that deliver nature-positive outcomes and yield good financial returns. A progress update on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) will also be provided.

Short case studies will showcased, highlighting examples of profitable nature-positive investments in the urban, agricultural, forestry and marine sectors. The workshop will explore the following:

  • Why nature is important to business in a New Zealand context
  • Opportunities for profitable nature-positive investment, as demonstrated by case studies
  • The alignment between the Māori world view and nature-positive businesses/investments
  • Interconnections between the climate and nature crises
