Tony Goldner
Executive Director of Taskforce on Nature-related Financial DisclosuresTony has significant experience working at the intersection of finance, sustainable development and diplomacy. Prior to joining the TNFD in September 2021, Tony was an adviser to government, financial sector and philanthropic leaders on a range of sustainable development challenges, including as a Senior Adviser with the World Bank Group.
As a Partner at the strategy consultancy Monitor Deloitte, Tony led the development of national reform strategies at both a country and city level and advised government leaders on the design of governance arrangements and performance management frameworks for mobilizing strategic investment capital and delivery of policy outcomes aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He was a senior member of Monitor Group’s global public sector advisory practice, has advised Fortune 500 US companies on their sustainability strategy and co-authored a seminal 2008 report on the investment behavior of Sovereign Wealth Funds.
Earlier in his career, Tony worked in infrastructure development and corporate finance in Australia and began his career in the Australian foreign service including a diplomatic posting in East Africa as a representative to UNEP and UN Habitat.
He graduated as a Littauer Fellow from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and has degrees from Monash University and Sydney University.
Lyn O’Connell PSM
Deputy Secretary at Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and WaterLyn O’Connell is a Deputy Secretary with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). She oversights the water, markets and science groups responsible for national water policy, the Murray Darling Basin, establishing the Environment Information Australia and creating the Nature Repair market.
Lyn commenced with DCCEEW when it was created on 1 July 2022 and helped establish the new Department. Previously Lyn held Deputy Secretary positions with the previous Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, and the Department of Agriculture. Lyn was the Head of Biosecurity in the Agriculture Department for 5 years from 2015 and then managed a portfolio including water, climate adaptation and environmental Science, Drought and Antarctica.
Prior to this, Lyn was also a Deputy Secretary at the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, a position she held for nearly 7 years. Here she managed Australia’s investment in road and rail infrastructure, and land transport policy and regulation. She also held a number of senior executive positions in other government portfolios and the private sector.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree (ANU), is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Lyn was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2013.
Estelle Parker
Executive Manager at RIAAEstelle Parker leads RIAA’s research, certification, policy, standards and working group programs. She brings 20 years’ experience leading strategic initiatives as a diplomat, policy analyst, stakeholder manager and strategic planner with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Estelle served, inter alia, as Acting Ambassador and Deputy Ambassador to Mexico, Central America and Cuba; Deputy State Director (Victoria); Policy Adviser to the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands; and as Director overseeing the development and management of bilateral relationships.
Estelle also worked for five years at the University of Melbourne, where she lectured in the Master of Public Policy and Management and Master of International Relations, and has experience on boards and committees. She is currently a member of the Principles for Responsible Investment’s Global Policy Reference Group and the Australian Government’s Natural Capital Working Group, as well as Convenor of the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures official Consultation Group for Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
Estelle holds a Master of Public Policy and Management (First Class Honours), Master of Communications (With Distinction), Bachelor of Arts (av. First Class Honours) and Certificate in Business Sustainability Strategy.
