At RIAA Nicolette leads the organisation’s policy and research agendas and is a member of the PRI’s Global Policy Reference Group. She also oversees the administration of the industry’s Responsible Investment Certification Program – that now covers more than 150 responsible and ethical investment and retirement savings products as well as financial advisers and financial planning groups.

Nicolette joins RIAA after 25 years delivering engagements, collaborations and accountability solutions for and with Australian and international companies, governments, unions and NGOs. She has worked at the Australian Conservation Foundation and Investor Group on Climate Change and has held executive roles at The Climate Institute, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Banarra and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority.

Nicolette is lead judge for NSW’s GREEN GLOBE Awards and Banksia Foundation’s Award for Circular Economy. She is also an interim Board member on Brand Ethics, an internationally reaching research institute promoting ethical shopping choices by providing labour, environmental and animal rights ratings on over 1,000 consumer brands.

After a 10-year academic career as an economist specializing in large forecasting models, Dr Fisher spent 26 years in various roles at the Bank of England including as the Executive Director for Markets (2009-14) and Deputy Head of the PRA (2014-16); and served as a voting member of the UK’s Monetary Policy Committee, Financial Policy Committee and Board of the Prudential Regulation Authority.

Since 2016 he has collected a portfolio of roles including Chair of the London Bullion Market Association, a NED at the UK Debt Management Office and consultancy for central banks.

His (pro bono) work on climate change and the financial sector is undertaken as a Fellow at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. In 2016 he played a pivotal role in influencing future climate change policy, whilst visiting Australia as a guest of Climate Alliance Limited.

In 2017 he represented CISL on the European Commission’s High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance and the UK Green Finance Task Force. He was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of the UK Green Finance Institute. Among various other academic roles he is a Senior Research Fellow at King’s College for work on general macro policy issues and is also a visiting Professor at Richmond, the American International University in London.
