Geraldine Barlow joined Australian Unity Investments (AUI) in 2016 as General Manager – Investments, and is responsible for leading the strategic and day to day investment activities relating to AUI’s in-house and external investors.
Geraldine has almost twenty years of global experience in the financial services industry, with the majority devoted to the funds management sector. In addition, Geraldine has held a range of Directorships on a number of company Boards over the last 10 years.
Prior to joining AUI, Geraldine worked in the US in a number of executive and senior investment positions, including the New Mexico State Investment Council where she was responsible for the management of a diverse portfolio of assets for their endowment.
Geraldine is a qualified Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), holding a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA), in addition to a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Business (Economics) from the Queensland University of Technology. Geraldine is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Prior to Deutsche Bank, Will worked at ANZ (McCaughan) Securities for eight years as head of equities desk across various regions, including London and New York. Before that, he was with National Mutual Funds Management as an investment analyst for two years. Will has a bachelor of economics and commerce from the University of Melbourne, and holds a diploma of financial planning. Will is a Fellow of Finsia and an Affiliate of the Australian Stock Exchange.

Seb Beloe is a Partner and Head of Research at WHEB Asset Management, one of the world’s leading sustainable investment businesses and manager of the Pengana WHEB Sustainable Impact Fund. Seb is widely recognised as an authority on sustainable investing. He has spent over twenty years working at the nexus of sustainability, business and investment including ten years at the consultancy and think-tank SustainAbility where he was a Board Director and Director of Research and Advocacy. He has spent a further ten years working in the financial sector, first at Henderson Global Investors and now at WHEB.

Seb is a senior member of WHEB’s investment team which is responsible for implementing the company’s investment strategy. He is also a seasoned public speaker having addressed audiences at the United Nations as well as a wide range of conferences on sustainable business and responsible and sustainable investment.

Seb is the lead author of WHEB’s award-winning impact reports, and has also been author or co-author of over twenty academic articles and reports on business, finance and sustainability. Seb is a member of SustainAbility’s Council, FutureFit’s Development Council and on the Investment Practices Steering Committee of the IIGCC. Seb has two degrees in Environmental Science and Environmental Technology and is a Chartered Environmentalist.

Pablo Berrutti is the Head of Responsible Investment Asia Pacific for Colonial First State Global Asset Management (‘CFSGAM’).
In his role, Pablo is responsible for supporting CFSGAM’s investment teams and working across asset classes in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining CFSGAM in July 2012, Pablo was the Head of Responsible Investment for Perpetual, Sydney. In this role Pablo was responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of Perpetual’s responsible investment framework.
Pablo has over 15 years financial services experience, including 5 years in risk management roles with the Commonwealth Bank Group and Perpetual.
Pablo has been the Chairman of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia since 2012. Pablo is a member of the management committee for the IGCC and chair’s it’s investor disclosure working group.
Pablo has a graduate certificate in sustainability from the Harvard extension school, a diploma of superannuation and a certificate 4 in financial planning.

Helga Birgden is Global Business Leader in Mercer's Responsible Investment business. Helga provides investment advice to Trustees, Directors and Investment Boards on fiduciary developments such as TCFD, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues and climate change. She helped lead both of Mercer’s global climate change studies 2011 and 2015 including the global report on Investing in a Time of Climate Change which represent portfolios investing US$3 Trillion. She provides advice on climate governance for transitioning to low carbon portfolios, portfolio modelling and scenario analysis. She has prepared research for multilateral institutions both on climate change and systemic social risks for multi-lateral institutions such as the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group, G20 and United Nations. Helga advises superannuation and pension funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, endowments and insurers on responsible investment on many complex assignments. She joined Mercer in 2007 and has worked in the industry for more than 20 years.

At RIAA Nicolette leads the organisation’s policy and research agendas and is a member of the PRI’s Global Policy Reference Group. She also oversees the administration of the industry’s Responsible Investment Certification Program – that now covers more than 150 responsible and ethical investment and retirement savings products as well as financial advisers and financial planning groups.

Nicolette joins RIAA after 25 years delivering engagements, collaborations and accountability solutions for and with Australian and international companies, governments, unions and NGOs. She has worked at the Australian Conservation Foundation and Investor Group on Climate Change and has held executive roles at The Climate Institute, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Banarra and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority.

Nicolette is lead judge for NSW’s GREEN GLOBE Awards and Banksia Foundation’s Award for Circular Economy. She is also an interim Board member on Brand Ethics, an internationally reaching research institute promoting ethical shopping choices by providing labour, environmental and animal rights ratings on over 1,000 consumer brands.

Richard was appointed as chief executive officer, Australia of Pendal Group (formerly BT Investment Management) in February 2018 and is a member of the Pendal Group Global Executive Committee. Richard has more than 20 years’ experience in investment management and is responsible for the Australian arm of Pendal Group, including asset management, operations, sales and marketing.
Before joining Pendal Group, Richard was Chief Investment Officer at First State Super, one of Australia’s largest pension funds and prior to that was Group Executive at Perpetual Investments, one of Australia’s oldest and most awarded fund managers.

Spanning almost 20 years, Simon's career with sustainability previously included leading sustainable design as an architect and heading sustainability across Asia Pacific for a global property services group.
Simon's clients include fund managers, listed and private property groups, non-property companies and government – in Australia and internationally.
In recent years, his attention has turned to the sustainability of digitalisation – which he simultaneously finds both exciting and alarming. He conceived and authored Crossing the Threshold – a primer for sustainable digitalisation in real estate and cities.

Dr Erin Castellas oversees impact management and measurement strategy and implementation across the organisation. Erin has more than 15 years’ experience working at the interface between social, environmental and economic outcomes.
She has worked as a university researcher and lecturer on sustainability measurement and social impact and built her own sustainability consulting practice where she led projects in the US, India and Australia for the world’s largest cleantech private equity investor, a cleantech advisory firm and the Asia Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate.
Erin has also led projects on social enterprise and impact investing for the Victorian Government, Impact Investing Australia and the Responsible Investment Association Australasia. Earlier in her career she worked as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley while building and leading community development and environmental advocacy non-profits in the US.
Erin has a BA in Environmental Science from the University of California at Berkeley and a PhD from Monash University which explored how organisations create multiple forms of value. She currently holds a position as adjunct fellow at the Centre for Social Impact, Swinburne University and continues to have a strong interest in how values and value intersect. Melinda is the CEO of CEDA. She is also a non-executive director of Woodside Petroleum and Australian Unity and Co-Chair of Reconciliation Australia. Melinda is also a member of the Parliamentary Budget Office panel of expert advisors.
She was previously a Commissioner with the Productivity Commission and Deputy CEO and Chief Economist with the Business Council of Australia. Melinda has also previously held senior roles with the Federal Department of Treasury, Invesco and the International Monetary Fund.
Melinda’s executive and director experience covers the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors and she has a strong track record of working collaboratively across sectors.

Iris Davila, Director, is Head of BlackRock Investment Stewardship team in Australia. In this role, Iris is responsible for engagement and proxy voting activities in relation to Australian and New Zealand companies in which BlackRock invests on behalf of clients.

Ms. Davila has had an extensive career at Blackrock spanning across product strategy, client business & business management across multiple regions since joining the firm in 1998 as an analyst in the Global Client Group based out of New York. In 2002, she was responsible for client service and business development within Europe and in 2004 moved to Sydney, Australia, where she was responsible for the formation and building of the BlackRock Australia Franchise. She helps to create tools and pathways for businesses to embed purpose alongside profit and contribute to solving social and environmental problems.

Prior to B Lab, Andrea worked at Social Ventures Australia (SVA), where she partnered with corporate Australia and non-profits to test innovative solutions to tackle long-term unemployment. Being responsible for incubating a portfolio of internal ventures, she believes in the right mix of strategy, implementation and evaluation, underpinned by the motto of, ‘hold the vision, trust the process’. Andrea was also the Employment Practice Lead responsible for developing strategies to address employment exclusion for young people, people with a disability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Earlier in her career, Andrea worked at KPMG and in Victorian government where she helped to pioneer program evaluation as the basis for ‘good decision making’ that led to more effective and efficient government program delivery.

Stephen has over 30 years’ experience in funds management. He serves on the boards of QBE Insurance Group, Lombard Odier Asset Management, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and the British Museum Investment Sub-Committee. In Australia, he is also a member of the NSW Government Expert Advisory Panel on Social Impact Bonds and, since its inception in April 2010, has been a Male Champion of Change (MCC). Stephen was an appointed member of the Board of Guardians of the Future Fund (Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund) and served for a period of five years until April 2016.

Previously, Stephen was Chairman of Goldman Sachs, Australia and New Zealand. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1992, as Chief Investment Officer for International Fixed Income and Currency within GSAM and has since been based in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney and served on the firm’s Partnership Committee, European Management Committee and Asia Pacific Management Committee.

The Forum combines investment and ESG disciplines into an engagement framework that focuses on long term value creation. He previously headed up collective shareholder engagement on behalf of fund managers at the ABI, worked on the buy-side as an equity analyst at The Co-operative Asset Management and had spells as a senior adviser to EY. She is also Company Secretary for B Lab Australia & New Zealand, and was previously the Director of Engagement and Communications at Impact Investing Australia where she played a central role putting impact investing on the map and engaging new market participants. Carly has extensive experience delivering campaigns and partnerships spanning the private, public and not for profit sectors in Australia, Asia and Africa. At Oxfam Australia, Carly designed award-winning campaigns for fairer international trade rules and generating consumer demand for fair trade products. For the Australian Conservation Foundation, Carly led communications and partnership development to promote the transition to an economy that delivers wellbeing alongside a healthy environment.

After working as an ESG Analyst at CAER for two years, Nina began her role as Research Project Manager in February 2017. In this position, Nina has gained experience managing a broad range of research projects covering issues such as gender pay equity, companies operating in conflict zones and animal welfare.
Nina holds a Bachelor of International Relations (Honours) from the Australian National University. This year, she was selected to participate in the Audrey Fagan Leadership Program and completed a series of Australian Institute of Company Directors courses. Nina is also on track to complete a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning by the end of 2018.

Her academic background and work at CAER have helped form a specialised interest in methods of negative screening in the investment process and international humanitarian law and human rights issues. Nina has worked on both the 2016 pilot and the 2018 iteration of the Corporate Human Rights Benchmark and as an active member of both the RIAA Corporate Engagement Working Group and Human Rights Working Group, regularly presents on human-rights related developments.

She is also an elected member of the UNEP FI Global Steering Committee, a member of Chief Executive Women and a member of the Steering Committee for Sydney 100 Resilient Cities.
Jacki is Non Executive Director for Community First Credit Union and a member of the Member of Corporate Governance and Remuneration Committee and an Executive Director if IAG International Holdings and a member of IAG Ethics Committee.
From 2010 to 2016 Jacki was Chief Executive for IAG’s New Zealand business. Former roles include President of the Insurance Council of New Zealand, Chair of the Christchurch Recovery Chief Executives' meeting, and Executive Director IAG NZ.
Since joining IAG in 2001, Jacki has held several senior positions in both direct and intermediated insurance, including as Chief Executive Officer of IAG’s business partnerships division. Jacki also established IAG’s online start up business, The Buzz which received an Australia Business Award in 2010 for outstanding achievement in Innovation. This business was migrated into IAGs direct business.
Jacki was recognised by the NZ Herald in December 2015 as NZ Executive of the Year. She is a former Non Executive Director of the New South Wales WorkCover Authority and the Personal Injury Education Foundation.

His firsthand experience of the technology industry in San Francisco engendered his interest in innovation and disruption.

As water resources expert he worked at the World Bank and United Nations.

Paul Kofman (PhD Erasmus University Rotterdam) was appointed Professor of Finance at The University of Melbourne in 2001. In 2012, Professor Kofman became the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Paul’s research interests and publications are in quantitative and behavioral finance and the regulation of financial markets. He has received numerous competitive research grants and was one of the founding directors of the ARC-funded Financial Integrity Research Network.

With his colleague Clare Payne, Paul introduced one of the first online ethics in finance subjects at The University of Melbourne, and their text book “A Matter of Trust – the practice of ethics in finance” was published by Melbourne University Press in 2018. With his colleague Sean Pinder, Paul also designed and developed the first Coursera MOOC specialization, Essentials of Corporate Financial Analysis and Decision Making, in partnership with BNY Mellon.

She has previously worked in management consulting in the energy and industrials sectors, at the Oxford Smith School and the Stockholm Environmental Institute, and served as a youth delegate to the UNFCCC. She presently acts as a mentor at EnergyLab and as a member of the founding committee of Women in Sustainable Finance. She holds Masters degrees in environmental policy and economics from Oxford University and the University of Queensland.
