Founder and President of Criterion Institute (USA)

Joy Anderson is a prominent national leader at the intersection of business and social change, whose insights and experience have helped shaped hundreds of ventures as well as the movements of impact investing and gender lens investing. She is founder and president of Criterion Institute, the leading think tank on using finance as a tool for social change, which demonstrates new possibilities through its groundbreaking research, innovative trainings, convenings and institutional engagement. In recognition of her leadership, Anderson was listed in Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business.

Joy has appeared on Bloomberg and CNN, and her thought leadership has been published in ImpactAlpha and Conscious Company, among other outlets. She is the author of “A Blueprint for Women’s Funds on Using Finance as a Tool for Social Change,” published in 2017 in partnership with Global Fund for Women and Ms. Foundation, following the 2015 publication of “Gender Lens Investing in Asia,” jointly released with USAID, and Criterion’s “The State of the Field of Gender Lens Investing.”

She currently lives with her husband and daughter in a Connecticut apple orchard, and can be found in the fall pressing cider and boiling apple syrup.

Matt Patsky is CEO and a Portfolio Manager on Trillium’s Sustainable Opportunities strategy and the Trillium ESG Global Equity Strategy. Based in Boston USA, Trillium has been at the forefront of ESG investing for nearly 40 years. Matt joined Trillium in 2009, and has three decades of experience in investment research and investment management. Matt began his career at Lehman Brothers. In 1989, while covering emerging growth companies, he began to incorporate environmental, social and governance factors into his research, becoming the first sell side analyst in the United States to publish on the topic of socially responsible investing in 1994.

Matt is currently on the Boards of Environmental League of Massachusetts, and Shared Interest. Matt is a member of the Social Venture Circle (SVC).

Daniela Jaramillo is a Senior Responsible Investment Adviser at HESTA, focusing on integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its investment strategy. Prior to moving to Australia, Daniela worked in the Responsible Investment industry in Chicago and London. Daniela is originally from Ecuador where she started her career as one of the founders of an NGO focusing on education and health issues. Daniela holds an MSc. in Environment and Development from London School of Economics (LSE) and a B.A in Journalism from Universidad San Francisco de Quito.

Tim has more than 15 years of experience in financial services and 10 years of experience in impact investing. As Chief Investment Officer, Tim has designed and implemented the investment strategy for Christian Super’s $1.4bn investment portfolio while building Christians Super’s world-leading Impact Investment capability. Brightlight Group was formed out of Christian Super and awarded GSG’s (Global Steering Group for Impact Investment) Asset Owner of the Year in 2017.

Tim serves as Chair of the UN PRI Environment & Social Themed Investments Working Group and is involved with the Global Impact Investing Network. He is a prominent figure in the development of the responsible investment and impact investment field in Australia.
