Joanne Bauer (CoFounder, Rights CoLab): Joanne leads on Rights CoLab's strategy of civil society engagement . A recognized thought leader in the field of business and human rights, Joanne brings over three decades of experience in project management, multi-stakeholder convening, research, and publication on both human rights and environmental issues. She is an Adjunct Professor of International Affairs at Columbia University (since 2008) where she teaches on business and human rights, launched the SIPA business and human rights clinic, co-founded the Teaching Business and Human Rights Forum, and led the Business and Human Rights Program at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights (2010-2019). She is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Inclusive Development International, a member of the Advisory Board of Accountability Counsel, and has advised numerous other human rights organizations. Previously, she was Director of Studies at Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs (1991-2005) and Senior Researcher during the start-up phase of the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre (2005-2011).

Måns is Head of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Research at Ausbil Investment Management Limited since September 2015. Prior to that, he was Senior ESG Research Analyst at AMP Capital for almost five years, following positions at Carnegie Investment Bank, Macquarie Bank and Accenture. With more than a decade of experience in the investment industry, including ten years in various responsible investment / ESG roles, Måns is well known for producing and presenting consistent, high-quality ESG research covering the Australian market and he has also published numerous, highly regarded insight papers on a wide range of ESG issues, including human rights and modern slavery. Måns is a member of the Retailer Supplier Roundtable Sustainability Council’s Forced Labour Advisory Council and the PRI Australia Network Advisory Committee. He holds an MBA International with Distinction from Griffith University and a Master of Financial Management from Gothenburg School of Business

Paul Rissman (CoFounder, Rights CoLab): Paul leads on our investor engagement strategy, drawing on over 20 years in asset management, including as Executive Vice President of AllianceBernstein L.P. and Chief Investment Officer of Alliance Growth Equities. Paul has conducted scholarly research on sustainability reporting, serves on the Board of Directors of the Sierra Club Foundation, is an Advisor to Just Capital, and co-chairs ICCR’s Anti-ESG Pushback Working Group. Paul was an Open Society Fellow in 2018-2019.

Kate Turner is a Responsible Investment Specialist at First Sentier Investors. She is playing a key role in the newly formed coalition Investors Against Slavery and Trafficking (IAST) APAC. Kate supports the governance of responsible investment and integration of ESG factors across the organisation and engages with clients and stakeholders in Australia and New Zealand to communicate First Sentier’s approach to responsible investment. Prior to joining First Sentier Investors, Kate was an Associate Director at Sustainalytics leading its business in Australia and New Zealand, and has previously held roles at ICBC Standard Bank Plc in London and Baker & McKenzie in Sydney. Kate holds Bachelor of Laws degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies with First Class Honors and University Medal from the University of Technology, Sydney.
