Australian Catholic Anti-Slavery Network

Carsten is a Sustainability, ESG and Modern Slavery Expert. With extensive experience in validating and monitoring suppliers and developing and implementing policies, processes and guidelines which work in real life.

His experience has been developed managing, mitigating and remediating sustainability challenges in Australia, Europe, China and Asia including strategy, compliance, monitoring and oversight, integrity, reporting, capacity building, training and programme implementation and training.

Carsten brings a practical approach to mitigation and remediation and is one of few with hands on experience remediating child labour and slavery like working conditions on site in Asia.

In addition to projects delivered in Australia, Asia, Denmark and Spain, Carsten has conducted monitoring at over 300 factories in China and updated a major Australian banks response to sustainable procurement.

Since 2020 he has been driving the engagement with business on behalf of the Australian Catholic Anti-Slavery Network (ACAN) establishing the Domus 8.7 service offering, a comprehensive service to provide remedy to victims of modern slavery. https://www.acan.org.au/domus87

Måns is Head of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Research at Ausbil Investment Management Limited since September 2015. Prior to that, he was Senior ESG Research Analyst at AMP Capital for almost five years, following positions at Carnegie Investment Bank, Macquarie Bank and Accenture. With more than a decade of experience in the investment industry, including ten years in various responsible investment / ESG roles, Måns is well known for producing and presenting consistent, high-quality ESG research covering the Australian market and he has also published numerous, highly regarded insight papers on a wide range of ESG issues, including human rights and modern slavery. Måns is a member of the Retailer Supplier Roundtable Sustainability Council’s Forced Labour Advisory Council and the PRI Australia Network Advisory Committee. He holds an MBA International with Distinction from Griffith University and a Master of Financial Management from Gothenburg School of Business
