RIAA's Nature Working Group is an initiative to support members in their stewardship responsibilities to protect nature and biodiversity in their business operations and their portfolio of companies.
The Nature Working Group has a three-fold purpose: build out the recommendations of the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative (ASFI) and Aotearoa Circle's Sustainable Finance Roadmaps, engage with the latest international developments (particularly the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures), address nature-related financial risks and expand opportunities in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
For this meeting we are pleased to be joined by Amanda Young, Executive Director at Pollination. Amanda will speak to us about what approaches or examples exist on incorporating First Nations decision making and participation into identifying and addressing nature-related risks and opportunities. This includes the inextricable link between nature and Indigenous peoples in any nature market aspiration and the direction of travel from stakeholder to partner and investment opportunity (including barriers).
This will be followed by the working group's regular agenda items including a series of industry updates as well as updates from the subgroups. We will then present the 2025 workplan for this working group.
