Valeria Dinershteyn
Senior Sustainability Specialist at Northern Trust Asset ManagementValeria Dinershteyn has joined Northern Trust Asset Management in the newly created role of Sustainable Investment Specialist (Vice President). Based in Amsterdam, Dinershteyn is focused on developing and broadening our Sustainable Investing proposition, as well as supporting EMEA clients on their sustainable investment journey.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2019 , Dinershteyn worked at Kempen Capital Management, an asset manager in the Netherlands, within the Responsible Investment team. There she covered environmental issues (e.g., climate risks incorporation in company analysis, carbon footprinting, scenario analysis), engagement activities with companies and helped clients to develop and implement their RI policies. She was recognized in the market for one of the highlights of her work at Kempen, the annual RI report, which in 2018 received an award from Responsible Investor for the best RI report of a mid-size asset manager.
Valeria has broad international experience having studied in Russia, the USA and the Netherlands. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Social Studies from St. Petersburg Polytechnical University (Russia) and a Master’s degree in Financial Management From Nyenrode Business University (the Netherlands). Next to her passion for sustainability issues, she is interested in languages and speaks fluent English, Russian, and Dutch, and studied German, Hebrew and Korean.
Dr Stuart Palmer
Head of Ethics Research at Australian EthicalStuart is Head of Ethics Research at Australian Ethical. In his role he evaluates the impacts which companies’ products, services and operations have on people, animals and the environment. He also leads Australian Ethical’s advocacy initiatives, engaging with companies for more sustainable business and investment models and practices. Stuart has previously worked with St James Ethics Centre and as a banker and lawyer.
Jenn-Hui Tan
Global Head of Stewardship and Sustainable Investing at FIL Investment Management (Australia) Limited.Jenn is responsible for providing external and internal leadership for Fidelity’s sustainable investing activities, including the strategy and policies on engagement, voting and ESG integration.
Jenn joined Fidelity International in 2007 from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a corporate finance lawyer advising on capital market and M&A transactions. He holds an LLB Law degree from the University of Durham.
Simon O'Connor
Co-Chair of ASFI and CEO at Responsible Investment Association AustralasiaSimon operates at the intersection of economics, finance and sustainability and has extensive international experience as an economic adviser, investment analyst and sustainability consultant across finance, corporate and not for profit sectors.
Simon works with RIAA’s 240 member organisations with the goal of delivering on RIAA’s mission of promoting, advocating for, and supporting approaches to responsible investment that align capital with achieving a healthy and sustainable society, environment and economy.
Simon is active across the region and internationally in responsible investment and sustainable finance initiatives. He sits as Co-Chair of the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative, working group member of the NZ Sustainable Finance Forum, a member of the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance, the UN backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Australia Network Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the National Advisory Board on Impact Investing in New Zealand.
