Head of Sustainable Investment at NZ Super Fund

Anne-Maree O’Connor is Head of Responsible Investment for the New Zealand Superannuation Fund (NZSF). Her main role is the development and oversight of the Guardians’ responsible investment (RI) framework which includes integrating environmental, social and governance considerations across the New Zealand Superannuation Fund’s investments. Anne-Maree is also a member of NZSF’s Investment Committee.

Anne-Maree was formerly a board member of the RI Association Australasia and is a recipient of the Women of Influence 2017 award in the Board and Management category. She was a Commissioner on the Financial Sector Commission on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking (Liechtenstein Initiative).

Anne-Maree has over 20 years of RI experience and has held senior roles in the RI and corporate responsibility field including Managing Director of CoreRatings, Associate Director RI at Aviva’s Morley Fund Management and Head of RI Research at Henderson Global Investors. She began her career with Tessa Tennant’s Jupiter Merlin Ecology Fund and NPI’s Global Care Funds in the early 1990’s. Anne-Maree holds an MSc from the University College of Wales (UK), a BSc from Massey University (NZ) and the Investment Management Certificate (UK).

Tony Goldner

Executive Director of Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures

Tony has significant experience working at the intersection of finance, sustainable development and diplomacy. Prior to joining the TNFD in September 2021, Tony was an adviser to government, financial sector and philanthropic leaders on a range of sustainable development challenges, including as a Senior Adviser with the World Bank Group.

As a Partner at the strategy consultancy Monitor Deloitte, Tony led the development of national reform strategies at both a country and city level and advised government leaders on the design of governance arrangements and performance management frameworks for mobilizing strategic investment capital and delivery of policy outcomes aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He was a senior member of Monitor Group’s global public sector advisory practice, has advised Fortune 500 US companies on their sustainability strategy and co-authored a seminal 2008 report on the investment behavior of Sovereign Wealth Funds.

Earlier in his career, Tony worked in infrastructure development and corporate finance in Australia and began his career in the Australian foreign service including a diplomatic posting in East Africa as a representative to UNEP and UN Habitat.

Estelle Parker leads RIAA’s research, certification, policy, standards and working group programs. She brings 20 years’ experience leading strategic initiatives as a diplomat, policy analyst, stakeholder manager and strategic planner with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Estelle served, inter alia, as Acting Ambassador and Deputy Ambassador to Mexico, Central America and Cuba; Deputy State Director (Victoria); Policy Adviser to the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands; and as Director overseeing the development and management of bilateral relationships.

Estelle also worked for five years at the University of Melbourne, where she lectured in the Master of Public Policy and Management and Master of International Relations, and has experience on boards and committees. She is currently a member of the Principles for Responsible Investment’s Global Policy Reference Group and the Australian Government’s Natural Capital Working Group, as well as Convenor of the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures official Consultation Group for Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Estelle holds a Master of Public Policy and Management (First Class Honours), Master of Communications (With Distinction), Bachelor of Arts (av. First Class Honours) and Certificate in Business Sustainability Strategy.

Camden Howitt (Senior Manager, Sustainability, Climate & Nature at PwC New Zealand)

Senior Manager, Sustainability, Climate & Nature at PwC New Zealand

Camden is a senior manager in the PwC Sustainability, Climate and Nature team, with a background in community conservation. He specialises in supporting organisations to identify and manage nature-related impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities, through education and upskilling on Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), and delivery of TNFD ‘LEAP’ nature assessments.

Prior to joining PwC, Camden in 2009 co-founded conservation charity Sustainable Coastlines, where he led the organisation’s strategic development and growth, delivered programmes to protect and regenerate nature around Aotearoa and the South Pacific, and created 'Litter Intelligence' -- New Zealand’s first marine litter monitoring programme. Camden is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Plastic Packaging Product Stewardship Scheme and Fellow of the Edmund Hillary Fellowship.

Kirsty Brennan, Environment and Sustainability Business Partner, Lyttelton Port Company

With an environmental science and management background of 20 years in Australia and New Zealand, Kirsty is now applying technical knowledge and practical experience to improve nature positive thinking and solutions within industry. Kirsty's role at Lyttelton Port Company involves environmental management, sustainability reporting and planning as well as project lead for Biodiversity Positive. Lyttelton Port Company are underway with biodiversity impact and risk assessments and are working towards their first disclosures under the TNFD this year.

Alana Lampitt (Partner - Environmental, planning & resource management at Chapman Tripp)

Partner - Environmental, planning & resource management at Chapman Tripp

Alana advises public and commercial clients across electricity generation, utilities, industrial processes, mining, oil and gas and emissions trading sectors. Alana specialises in resource management and environmental aspects of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, property development, commercial contracts and due diligence investigations. Her extensive experience assisting clients on environmental and planning liabilities means she is often called upon to act for clients with large international commercial transactions and contracts.

She is also a member of our Consulting advisory team.

Prior to joining Chapman Tripp, Alana was a Senior Associate in Allen & Overy LLP's Global Environmental and Regulatory Law Group in London, and before that she worked for a specialist environment and resource management practice in New Zealand.

Greg Munford is a Senior Investment Strategist with the Sustainable Investment team at the Guardians. With over 15 years in the climate, energy, agriculture, forestry, water and transport sectors spanning New Zealand, Asia, Pacific, Europe and the Americas, Greg has led dozens of successful environment, social and governance (ESG) initiatives with national and international partners, across investment, business, government and multilateral institutions. Greg brings this experience and cross-disciplinary training in physical and social/policy sciences to bear in addressing the NZ Super Fund's risks, opportunities and reporting requirements across the climate, nature and broader ESG spectrum.

Ella Tunnicliffe-Glass is Senior Manager Sustainability Strategy at Fonterra. Her primary role is to translate global and local sustainability trends and insights into a clear strategic direction for the Co-operative, working with sales, operations, and farmer-facing teams on implementation. Nature is an increasing focus of this work. Ella is also responsible for leading the integration of climate-related risks and opportunities into Fonterra’s business processes, climate-related disclosures, and the coordination of Fonterra’s Sustainability Advisory Panel. Ella previously spent three years in Fonterra’s Group Strategy team, where she worked on Fonterra’s 2030 strategy and drove the implementation of the strategic choice to be a leader in sustainability.

Prior to joining Fonterra, Ella worked as a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in Australia. She holds a Master of Philosophy (Distinction) from the University of Cambridge, where she was a Gates Scholar, and Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Music (Honours) degrees from the University of Auckland.

Matt is a manager in the PwC Sustainability, Climate and Nature team. He is experienced working with clients across the public and private sector across a range of nature and climate-related issues, including Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) implementation. Most recently, Matt has been working with the Aotearoa Circle to upskill organisations on the TNFD framework and support its implementation in New Zealand.

Prior to joining PwC New Zealand, Matt worked in the PwC UK Sustainability & Climate Change team based in London. He holds degrees from the University of Cambridge (BA Hons) & London School of Economics (MSc with Distinction).
