Join us in Sydney or online for the largest responsible investment gathering in the Southern Hemisphere. The RIAA Conference brings together finance, sustainability and industry practitioners to explore the future of ESG in an interconnected global landscape. From the risks of greenwashing to shifting geopolitical dynamics, we'll examine how these challenges are shaping global and Australian investment strategies.
The conference will cover a range of critical topics, including insights on avoiding greenwashing pitfalls in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment, exploring the impact of political shifts on ESG strategies, and understanding the global race for resources in the renewable energy transition. We'll also delve into systems thinking for sustainable investing, focusing on how investors can manage systemic risks and create long-term value.
There will be discussions addressing nature risk and opportunities, First Nations investment opportunities, human rights due diligence and the growing importance of international sustainability standards interoperability. These sessions will equip delegates with the insights needed to navigate the dynamic ESG landscape and shape the future of responsible investment.
In celebration of RIAA's 25th anniversary, we'll reflect on the progress made over the past quarter-century, while highlighting the new opportunities and challenges as sustainable finance continues to evolve. Stay tuned as we announce our official sessions and speakers in the weeks ahead.
Join us for the conference dinner! Extend your conference beyond the sessions and connect with like-minded professionals in a relaxed setting. This exclusive dinner will be held on-site at the ICC in the Parkside Ballroom on 28 May. An additional ticket is required to attend the dinner.
We can't wait to connect, learn and shape the future of responsible investment with you at the RIAA Conference Australia 2025.

PRE-CONFERENCE EVENT
Almost 20 years after coining the term ESG and helping shape global frameworks for sustainable finance, Paul Clements-Hunt returns to the conversation with a timely question: is the finance sector equipped for the transition to net zero? As the former head of the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative, Paul led the development of the Principles for Responsible Investment and other major initiatives that placed environmental, social and governance factors on the financial agenda. Today, he argues that building credible climate capability across the system is critical to making real progress.
Join Paul and a panel of leading experts including Professor Martina Linnenluecke, Director, UTS Centre for Climate Risk and Resilience, Gordon Noble, Research Director at the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures; Rachel Alembakis, Stewardship Manager, U Ethical Investors; and Nayanisha Samarakoon, Head of Policy & Advocacy, Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA); for an in-person conversation on the origins of sustainable finance and the role of ESG today. They'll explore what responsible investment means in a rapidly changing world and why building the right skills across the sector will be key to driving real, lasting change.
